In this video Ricardo De la Riva shows us a sweep from the open guard. In jiu-jitsu you will find yourself often with your guard open. You will have to open your guard in BJJ in order to attack. Make sure to make the right grips on the opponents gi or you will not do the sweep the right way.

This is a sweep from the spider guard. It's is a more advance. Just don't want to show you guys basic moves. One of my favorite open guard positions is the spider guard it is very effective for sweeps and keeping your opponent on his or her toes.

Scissors Sweep

This is one of the most basic sweeps and is taught to all beginners in jiu-jitsu. Its tough to get at first and you will get stuck half way through the move at times but keep practicing and you will hit it on people. The best bet is to use it with combinations that usually catches your opponent off guard. Rodrigo Gracie shows us the intricacies of this sweep.
